Information we collect

When you request a purchase or refinance plan, create a rate alert, apply to the partner network, or upload a document for review, we collect the contact details, property information, target rate, and mortgage-planning information you choose to provide. Uploaded files may contain information about a loan offer or current mortgage. We also receive ordinary technical information such as page visits, referral source, browser details, and campaign identifiers when analytics are enabled.

How we use information

We use submitted information to respond to requests, monitor the selected market benchmark, deliver a requested rate alert, organize educational comparisons, review lender quotes, operate calculators and rate tools, prevent duplicate or fraudulent submissions, maintain routing and consent records, and improve the site. Competitive Rate is an educational comparison and referral platform, not a lender, and does not make credit decisions or set loan terms.

Information sharing

For requests submitted under the current referral consent, contact details may be shared with no more than three independent participating real estate agents and three independent participating mortgage lenders. We record the applicable consent version and recipient limits with each request. Earlier consent is not expanded retroactively.

Service providers may process information to host the site, validate addresses, store uploaded documents, deliver communications, measure performance, prevent abuse, and support platform operations. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the security and integrity of the service.

Uploaded documents

Loan Estimates, lender quotes, mortgage statements, and permitted images are stored privately for review. Do not upload passwords, bank-login credentials, or unrelated identity documents. Uploaded files are not published in the partner directory.

Independent partners

Participating agents and lenders are independent businesses responsible for their own licensing, privacy practices, communications, eligibility decisions, pricing, disclosures, and loan terms. Their privacy practices apply after information is delivered to them under your consent.

Retention and security

We retain records for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the requested service, maintain consent and routing history, resolve disputes, protect the platform, and meet legal obligations. We use access controls, encrypted network connections, private object storage, and audit records designed to protect submitted information. No online system can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You may decline referral consent and still use the public educational content and calculators. You may ask us to deactivate a rate alert or review a contact preference, access request, or deletion request subject to recordkeeping and legal requirements by calling 855-698-4552.

We may update this notice as the service changes. The date above identifies the current version.
